Event Management is an exciting and growing industry, as well as a unique career opportunity for everyone with a passion for the planning and organizing of events. Most people do not have the time or expertise to plan events themselves hence the need for event managers. An event manager is in charge of planning, organizing, and executing all types and sizes of events, such as concerts, conventions, parties, weddings, festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, or other gatherings. The event manager is also i n charge of developing a theme or motif for the event, arranging for speakers and alternate speakers, coordinating location support (such as electricity and other utilities), arranging decor, tables, chairs, tents, event support and security, catering, fire, portable toilets, parking, signage, emergency plans and clean-up.
